HISTORY

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä± is Public Radio and Television for South Florida.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä± Radio signed on in 1948 as a non-profit, non-commercial broadcast station licensed to the School Board of Dade County. SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä±-TV followed in 1962. Since then, SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä± has grown steadily with financial support from Friends of SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä±, Inc. (now South Florida Public Media) to become an integral part of the community it serves, offering a rich and varied mix of news and information, arts and culture, childhood education and lifelong learning.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä± is a multifaceted media enterprise comprising television, radio, and digital platforms.

Today, SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä± continues to provide quality public radio and television services to audiences in South Florida, from Palm Beach to Key West. SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ä± also provides media support to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, whose 392 schools have an enrollment of over 360,000 students.
