Broward School Board members could try to fire the superintendent no more than twice a year under a proposal scheduled to be discussed Tuesday.

The policy, drafted by district staff, refers to all requests made directly by School Board members instead of the superintendent, reports the .

Board member Lori Alhadeff asked the board March 5 to fire Superintendent Robert Runcie, citing concerns over security, construction delays and issues in special education. The request failed 6 to 3, with Alhadeff being joined by Nora Rupert and Robin Bartleman.
