Listen To 100 Versions Of 'My Country, 'Tis Of Thee' During Miami Art Week 2018

Chicago-based artist Bethany Collins compiled 100 versions of "My Country 'Tis of Thee," which is on display at Locust Projects in Miami's Design District.

Miami Art Week is a showcase for the city’s visual artists, but a Design District gallery is taking a more musical approach to mark the occasion.

 

On Thursday at , several volunteer singers and local choirs will perform 100 versions of “My Country, ’Tis of Thee,” which debuted in 1831 and has since been re-written throughout the years.

Chicago-based artist compiled those versions in her artist book “America: A Hymnal,” the main work in her solo exhibit “The Litany.”

The performance runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit runs until Jan. 26.
