Stage 9 Studios just up the road in Kingsland, Ga. invites Star Trekfans to boldly go where few have gone before.
The studio has been the home to fan film productions such as , and others.
It features full-scale reproductions of constitution-class starship sets from the original 1960s Star Trek TV series, all of which will be open to the public this weekend.
Production volunteer Dan Scanlan, who is also a reporter at The Florida Times-Union, helped build many of the sets.
鈥淭he latest edition 鈥 the warp core 鈥 which has a beautiful red-lit design to it, and engine room鈥 and there鈥檚 a captain鈥檚 chair to sit in and get selfies done. And I tell you, it鈥檚 so cool to watch other people鈥檚 reaction,鈥 Scanlan said during Tuesday's First Coast Connect.

The free Star Trek Fan Appreciation Weekend will be held inside the studios at 516 W. William Ave., Kingsland, Ga. 31548-4166. It starts Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday. Display hours and additional information is available on the .
